World Food Safety Day 2021: The lack of food consumed every year kills thousands of people. The United Nations (UN) has given the responsibility of promoting food Safety to the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
World Food Safety Day 2021 is observed on June 7 every year to raise the same awareness.
World Food Safety Day 2021 Theme
The theme of this year’s World Food Safety Day 2021 is “Today’s Safe Food for Healthy Tomorrow”. This theme emphasizes the production and consumption of food. Food for all of us is a need without which even 1 day cannot be alive. Whenever we feel very hungry, we often eat anything and at present, we are so busy that we mostly consume junk food. It is well known that junk food is not healthy at all for health. Nevertheless, a large number of people consume it.
World Food Safety Day History
In 2018, an announcement was made by the Un General Assembly that June 7 every year would be treated as World Food Safety Day. It was to recognize the burden on people around the world in relation to foodborne diseases.
For this, both WHO (World Health Organization) and FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization) work to celebrate World Food Safety Day in collaboration with both member countries and other organizations related to the sector.
