World Food Safety Day 2021: Every day people consume a lot of food items. 30 lakh people die due to bad food items

According to the World Health Organization, one in 10 people fall ill every year from contaminated food or bacteria-rich food. This figure of sick people worldwide crosses about 600 million, of which 3 million dies. Special attention is paid to the quality of food items only to reduce this figure of death.

The theme of World Food Safety Day 2021

The theme of World Food Safety Day 2021 is “Today’s Safe Food for Healthy Tomorrow”. This year’s theme emphasizes the quality of food. If we eat good food today, we will have better tomorrow, we will be healthy. Since no subject was decided on this day last year, the subject of 2018 was considered to be ‘Food Safety, Everyone’s Business.

History of World Food Safety Day

This is the third year that the world is going to organize this day. In 2018, the United Nations General Assembly announced the celebration of World Food Safety Day, and since then, the day began to be held on 7th June every year. The day was held online last year due to the corona epidemic. This year also it is to be celebrated online.

India has done these things

It has been designated by the United Nations for promoting food Safety by the Food and Agriculture Organization and the World Health Organization. The first State Food Safety Index has been developed by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India to provide safe food. Special device ‘Raman 1.0’ has also been introduced to find out about adulteration of edible oil and ghee in less than a minute.
