Government’s big gift to more than 3 lakh pensioners, increased pension from this date

More than 3 lakh pensioners have been replaced in Punjab. Punjab Chief Minister Charanjeet Singh Channi has directed the Finance Department to pay the revised pension to more than 3 lakh pensioners about July 1, 2021. 1,887 crore in the current financial year. According to an official statement, the decision has been taken in line with the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission of Punjab.

Channi was also directed to cash in on holidays and pay other benefits like a gratuity. It will sit at about Rs.915 crores. It will be paid to 42,600 pensioners who retired from January 1, 2016, to June 30, 2021. In all, these decisions will put a burden of Rs.2,802 crore on the exchequer. The Chief Minister said that such revised pension will be paid to pensioners in a lump sum from 1st July 2021.

Earlier in September, the government had increased the City Compensatory Allowance (City Compensatory allowance) of state employees from Rs 100 to Rs 200. In cities where Rs.120 was available, Rs.240 has been increased. The rural allowance will now be five percent instead of 6. But with the increase in basic pay, this amount will go up in advance. In addition, the Government has increased the medical allowance from Rs.500 to Rs.1000.

The government also increases mobile allowance

D and C Category: Rs. 250 to Rs. 500
B Category: Rs. 300 to Rs. 600
A Category: Rs. 500 to Rs. 1000

Travel allowance also increased

C & D Category : Rs. 500 to Rs. 1000
B Category: Increased from Rs. 750 to Rs. 1500
A Category: Rs. 1000 to Rs. 2000
