Cyclone Tauktae, Weather Forecast Today Updates: Prime Minister Narendra Modi (PM Narendra Modi) arrived in Gujarat on Wednesday to take stock of the situation in the badly affected districts and Union Territory of Diu in the wake of the devastating cyclone. Here PM Modi and Chief Minister Vijay Rupani reviewed the situation of the three worst-affected districts of Bhavnagar, Amreli, Gir-Somnath, and Union Territory of Diu by air.
PM Modi has also shared pictures related to this on his Twitter handle. He said that in order to assess the situation in view of the cyclone, we conducted an aerial survey of parts of Gujarat and Diu. The central government is working closely with all the states affected by the cyclone.
According to information received from the sources, after the survey, the Prime Minister of Ahmedabad will hold a two-hour meeting with the Gujarat CM and other high officials of the state administration at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. The loss assessment and relief work will be discussed in detail in the meeting. Special arrangements have been made at the airport for the meeting. Security has also been increased in view of PM’s visit. The Prime Minister will leave for Delhi this evening.
Meanwhile, the administration has been ordered to carry out relief work in the affected areas of the state. Health officials have also been asked to be prepared to keep in mind the possibility of water-borne diseases. Gol-Somnath, Amreli, Bhavnagar districts passed through the storm on Tuesday.

These three districts suffered the most, after that, the intensity gradually decreased as they passed through Ahmedabad on Tuesday. The storm has caused major damage in the state especially to major crops like horticulture. Almost the entire crop of mango, banana, and coconut has been destroyed.
