Virbhadra Singh Death: Virbhadra Singh, a six-time Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, passed away at IGMC Shimla at 3.40 am today. He had been ill for a long time. Even after overcoming a corona infection twice, he was constantly under treatment at the hospital and was on a ventilator for two days. Virbhadra Singh breathed his last at IGMC Hospital, Shimla. The former chief minister’s health worsened after recovering from corona and was admitted to IGMC for treatment. He recently turns 87. The mortal remains of the former Chief Minister have been brought to his private residence, Holylaj. Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur has declared three days of state mourning in the state.
Meeting on bye-election postponed
The Congress party meeting in Mandi today has been canceled. The meeting was to be attended by several senior party leaders including the leader of opposition Mukesh Agnihotri. The meeting was held to prepare for the by-poll to Mandi Parliamentary Constituency.
