Krishna Nagar gives India the 5th gold medal at Tokyo Paralympics, Krishna Nagar beat Kai Man Chu: Tokyo Paralympics, the Indian players continued to perform strongly in 2020. In the Tokyo Paralympic badminton men’s singles SH6 event, Krishna Nagar defeated Hong Kong Kai Mann Chu to win the gold medal. Krishna defeated Kai Mann Chu 21-17 in the first round of the final. Though the Hong Kong player returned in the second game and clinched the match 21-16, Indian para shuttler Krishna Nagar made a stunning comeback in the third round to win 21-17 and clinch the gold medal by winning the match 2-1.

The ongoing Paralympic Games in Tokyo are in their final stages and the performance of the Indian players has been strong so far. India has won five gold medals, 8 silver medals, and 6 bronze medals. The tournament has been historic for India in the history of Paralympic games as India had won only 12 medals in the games so far, but now India has captured more than a dozen and a half medals in the same Paralympics.

Krishna Nagar of Rajasthan is just 22 years old and has won silver and bronze medals at the World Championships before winning a gold medal at the Paralympics. He has also won a bronze medal at the Para Asian Games. He is currently the second-highest player in the world in his category. Looking at the current performance, they may soon occupy number one.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has praised Krishna Nagar. He tweeted, “The great good news from Tokyo Paralympics is that Para-badminton player Krishna Nagar from Jaipur, Rajasthan has won a gold medal in the men’s para-badminton SH6 event! A fantastic achievement for which we are so proud! Congratulations to him for his spectacular success!!”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also appreciated the athlete and congratulated him on winning the gold medal and tweeted, “Happy to see our badminton players excelling at the Tokyo Paralympics. Krishna Nagar’s spectacular feat has brought a smile to every Indian’s face. Congratulations to him on winning the gold medal. Best wishes to him for his further efforts. ”
