David Warner: The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 proved to be the worst year for David Warner so far. He was stripped of his captaincy in the middle of the tournament and then dismissed from the playing XI. Warner’s bat then went on to play a strong role in the T20 World Cup and he also played a key role in making Australia t20 world champions. With Warner almost certain to land in the mega auction for IPL 2022, Virender Sehwag revealed which team he could be seen playing for in the IPL next year.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) or any IPL team has not yet announced their list of retained players, but whatever they did this year with Warner, it seems that they are set to be released. Sehwag has now expressed his opinion on which franchise teams Warner can play for.
Sehwag said on Cricbuzz, “Next year, two new franchise teams will also play in the tournament and they will have a chance to pick three players before the rest of the teams, so they can pick Warner. He may get an opener and captain as Warner. One of the teams will definitely approach David Warner. Ashish Nehra believes that even if Warner had not played so well in the T20 World Cup, he would have set the IPL auction on fire.
