In the year 1901, Henry Dinant received the first Nobel Peace Prize for his human service work. Red Cross is an international organization. It is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. The International Committee of Red Cross and several National Societies run it.
The main objective of the Red Cross Society is to provide relief to the people from the difficulties faced during the time of war or calamity. It helps in providing first aid, emergency help, health, and social service, serving the beneficiaries.
Apart from this, this institution plays its role in various types of health and social services, from the blood banks. Around 210 countries around the world are associated with this institution.
